Abstract

This study ascertained the relationship between corporate governance and carbon disclosure practices of quoted manufacturing firms in Nigeria from 2011-2020. Specifically, this study aimed to ascertain the relationship between ownership concentration, board gender diversity, sustainability committee and carbon emission disclosure of eighteen (18) quoted manufacturing firms in Nigeria. This study employed ex-post facto research design. Pearson coefficient correlation and Panel Least Square (PLS) regression analysis were employed via E-View 10.0 statistical software. The study found that ownership concentration, board gender diversity and sustainability committee have a significant positive relationship with carbon emission disclosure of quoted manufacturing firms in Nigeria at 5% level of significance respectively. It was recommended amongst others that firms should constitute sustainability committee in order to maximize shareholders’ wealth and gain competitive advantage.
