Much has been written about how heteronyms pepper the Yoruba language [1-3]. However when these heteronyms are used in sentences the peculiarity of The Yoruba language becomes ever so more glaring. Consider the following. Please note that “d”, “r” and “m” signify sounds/tones approximating to the first three notes of the tonic solfa- doh, rey and mi.
