Abstract

In this paper, a geophysical application of the stepwise multiple linear regression
is studied. Precisely, the stepwise multiple linear regression is applied to the con-
tribute the earthquakes localization, describing its conditions of use in a software
devoted to computation of seismic sources' collocation (HYPO71PC). As an appli-
cation, the computation of earthquakes localization happened on Mount Vesuvius,
Italy is presented.
