Abstract

Calcifying odontogenic cyst (COC) is a developmental odontogenic cyst. The lesion is unusual having features of a cyst but also has many characteristics of a solid neoplasm. It constitutes 0.3-0.8% of all odontogenic cysts. It can occur in isolation or in association with other odontogenic tumours. Very few cases of isolated COC of maxilla have been reported in literature so far. Involvement of maxillary sinus is rare in those cases. Thus, we report a rare case of a large COC of maxilla with rare involvement of maxillary sinus in a 13 year old female treated by enucleation via midfacial degloving approach with review of literature
