Abstract

Crown-root fracture in permanent teeth causes esthetic and functional problems. Furthermore, the trauma has often a great impact on the appearance and well being of the patient.  In this case, trauma resulted in a deep complicated crown – root fractures (CRF) of an immature maxillary right central incisor of a young patient. MTA pulpotomy was carried out followed by fragment reattachment and fiber post placement. Clinical and radiographic examinations after 6 and 12months were satisfactory showing no signs of tooth pain, mobility, gingival recession or periodontal pocket formation with treated tooth. The present CRF case was treated with reattachment of fractured fragment using resin glassionomer and fiber post placement following MTA pulpotomy. Treatment for crown root fracture in a vital tooth could be managed by more conservative approach successfully.
